H.E. Arthur Mattli, Ambassador of Switzerland to the United Arab Emirates, received a delegation from Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies, led by Dr. Fawaz Habbal, Director General and Member of the Board of Trustees, accompanied by members of the Center’s team.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed opportunities to advance the scientific research ecosystem in the era of digital transformation and enhance the accessibility of Arab academic output across international libraries, databases, and digital platforms.
They also explored ways to expand cooperation between academic institutions in both countries, supporting researchers, encouraging joint studies, and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise across various fields.
Dr. Fawaz Habbal emphasized the pivotal role of academic publishing in disseminating research findings and strengthening their international visibility, stating: “Scientific publishing is the bridge through which knowledge reaches academic and research communities. We are therefore committed to supporting research quality and strengthening its presence in international journals and platforms, thereby expanding its intellectual and scholarly impact.”
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Center’s delegation presented His Excellency the Ambassador with a copy of the book “Tolerance and Coexistence: A Scientific Model in Diverse Societies – The KRAB Framework.”
The book provides a comprehensive scientific examination of tolerance and is presented as the first academic publication globally to address tolerance and coexistence through a measurable research-based approach. It is based on a field study conducted in the United Arab Emirates involving 590 families representing 120 cultures and nationalities. The book also introduces the KRAB Framework, a scientific model for understanding and measuring tolerance through four principal stages.
The visit concluded with an affirmation of the important role played by academic institutions in advancing intellectual dialogue and reinforcing the contribution of research to building more progressive and open societies. The meeting also reflected Emirates Scholar Center’s commitment to bringing Emirati scientific and academic output to international scholarly forums.
