Objective
To assess the effectiveness of cupping therapy on the endocrine and metabolic indicators on
patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome. The primary outcome measured was the effect on the
reproductive hormonal profile and metabolites before and after Hijama. The secondary outcome measured was pregnancy rates after Hijama. Prophetic medicine recommended Al-Hijama and considered it as the best remedy.
Methods
Research Design. This study was a pilot clinical study.
Setting
The study was conducted at Prophetic Medicine Research Clinic, King Abdulaziz University,
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia at the period between January 2013 to December 2016.
Sample
Forty-one women (38 married (25 from them have infertility) and 3 unmarried). All patients signed consent. They followed one year before cupping therapy and stopped medical treatment three months
