Abstract

As the United Arab Emirates (UAE) continues its trajectory toward becoming a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI), the integration of these technologies into the social fabric, specifically within families with Children of Determination, presents a transformative opportunity. This position paper explores how generative AI (GenAI) and affective computing can enhance emotional intelligence (EI), foster empathy, and strengthen interpersonal connections. By synthesizing recent literature and local initiatives, the paper identifies key mechanisms such as multimodal emotion sensing, AI-scaffolded reflection, and faith-rooted parental guidance.
