Abu Dhabi – October 26, 2026
Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies participated in the scientific dialogue held as part of Italian Research Day 2026, following a kind invitation from the Embassy of the Italian Republic in Abu Dhabi. The event was attended by H.E. Lorenzo Fanara, Ambassador of Italy to the United Arab Emirates, alongside a distinguished group of scientists, researchers, and experts from various scientific fields.
The Center was represented on this occasion by Dr. Fawaz Habbal, Director-General of the Center, and Dr. Firas Habbal, President of the Center, reflecting the Center’s commitment to strengthening international scientific cooperation and expanding engagement with academic and research institutions.
The dialogue was held under the theme “Science Begins with a Question. It Grows Through Doubt,” highlighting the role of questioning, intellectual curiosity, and critical thinking in advancing scientific discovery and knowledge. It addressed a range of scientific topics, including the mysteries of the universe and astrophysics, mathematical modelling, and bioethics, with the participation of three distinguished Italian scholars: Angelo Luigi Vescovi, in bioethics; Andrea Valerio Macciò, in astrophysics; and Giulia De Masi, in mathematical modelling. The dialogue was moderated by Dr. Zina Cinker, a condensed matter physicist and Director General of MATTER Group. The discussion provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the importance of interdisciplinary scientific thinking and the role of scientific research in addressing contemporary questions and opening new horizons for discovery and innovation.
At the conclusion of its participation, the Center expressed its sincere thanks and appreciation to H.E. Ambassador Lorenzo Fanara and the Embassy of the Italian Republic in Abu Dhabi for the kind invitation and warm hospitality, commending the Embassy’s efforts to support scientific dialogue and strengthen communication among researchers and experts from various disciplines.
