Abstract
OCT, or Optical Coherence Tomography, is a medical imaging technique that uses light to obtain high-resolution images of tissues. This technology is commonly used in ophthalmology to image the retina and the eye in general, but it can also be applied in other medical fields such as cardiovascular diseases and dermatology. In ophthalmology, OCT is used to diagnose and monitor many conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma. Optical coherence tomography provides three-dimensional images of the eye tissues with high precision, allowing doctors to see very small details in the retina and other parts of the eye. The procedure is non-invasive and quick, making it a preferred method for detecting eye problems at early stages.
