Abstract

This session highlights the findings from 18 months of investigating the use of GenAI in higher education contexts. Our research looked closely into teachers' practice, students' engagement with GenAI, and classroom observations. Findings highlighted several needs to allow for a smooth and effective integration of GenAI tools into the classroom. To respond to these needs, we developed the LAIK framework, a practical framework that guides teachers in integrating GenAI into higher education classrooms. This session will discuss the framework and its different stages in ways that are practical and relevant to educators in higher education.
