Sharjah – 20 October

RQ Science and Technology, in collaboration with Emirates Scholar Center for Research and Studies, organized an interactive session titled “Scientific Research and Its Role in Enabling the UAE’s Vision in Artificial Intelligence and Education” The session was delivered by Dr. Firas Habbal, President of Emirates Scholar Center, at RQ Science and Technology, as part of the Center’s support for the “Scientific Residency Program,” which targets young people from Grades 9 to 12.

The session marks the first phase of the strategic collaboration between the two centers, which aims to foster a culture of scientific research among young students. The collaboration includes specialized training workshops on the fundamentals and methodologies of scientific research and academic writing, research mentoring and guidance to help participants develop their projects, and the involvement of the Center’s experts and researchers in delivering lectures and scientific sessions. It also covers support for scientific publishing and the organization of joint research events and forums.

The session comes amid rapid global transformations in artificial intelligence, and in line with the UAE’s ambition to consolidate its position as a global hub for innovation and knowledge and to prepare a generation of researchers capable of leading the future.

During the session, Dr. Firas Habbal discussed the importance of scientific research as a pillar for achieving the UAE’s vision in artificial intelligence, how students can use AI tools in their research responsibly and effectively, and the key research skills young researchers need to keep pace with the future. The session saw remarkable engagement from students, who raised a number of questions about how to leverage AI technologies in preparing scientific research, how to turn their ideas into innovative research projects, and what skills they need to embark on their first experience in scientific research.

At the conclusion of the session, the two centers affirmed that it embodies their shared commitment to investing in young research talent, equipping students with skills that keep pace with rapid developments in artificial intelligence, and contributing to the UAE’s vision of a pioneering education system built on scientific research and innovation.
