Article Copyright & Licensing
Emirati Journal of Business, Economics & Social Studies (EJBESS) implements a rights retention policy to ensure Authors retain complete control of their intellectual property.
Author RightsStarting January 1st, 2025, Authors retain full copyright of their published work. By submitting and accepting an article for publication, Authors grant EJBESS a non-exclusive, worldwide, and perpetual license to:
- Publish the work in both electronic and print formats.
- Distribute it via indexing services and repositories.
- Archive and preserve it permanently.
This approach aligns with international Open Access mandates such as:
- DOAJ criteria: https://doaj.org/apply/guide
- Plan S requirements: https://www.coalition-s.org
- COPE Core Practices: https://publicationethics.org/core-practices
EJBESS provides Authors with the opportunity to select between two Creative Commons licenses:
2.1 CC BY — Creative Commons Attribution 4.0Allows others to share, remix, adapt, and build upon the work, including for commercial purposes, provided proper attribution is given. URL: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/
2.2 CC BY-NC-ND — Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0Allows sharing the work without modifications and for non-commercial purposes only, with attribution. URL: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/
EJBESS supports full self-archiving to maximize accessibility and compliance with Open Science standards.
Authors are entitled to:
- Deposit any version of their manuscript (preprint, accepted manuscript, or final published version) in:
- Institutional repositories (e.g., university archives).
- Disciplinary repositories (e.g., SSRN https://www.ssrn.com/, RePEc https://repec.org/, EconStor https://www.econstor.eu/).
- Personal or academic websites.
- Preprint and postprint servers.
- Reuse their content, in whole or in part, for:
- Books, book chapters, and edited volumes.
- Conference proceedings.
- Teaching and educational purposes.
