Scope Evaluation at ESRC

Every EJBESS submission undergoes initial desk review by the editorial team within 48 hours, assessing the abstract, keywords, and introduction for alignment with these aims. Clear misalignments result in polite desk rejection. Boundary cases advance to a scope review panel (handling editor + two associate editors) within one week. Authors must affirm scope fit upon submission; misrepresentations follow COPE guidelines. Pre-submission guidance, including these examples, is available on the EJBESS website. The Editorial Board annually refines this statement based on submissions and feedback, with updates posted transparently on the ESRC site.
