About Leadership Training Program 2026
A leadership training program presented by Emirates Scholar Center for Research & Studies and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) under the theme “Leading Institutional Transformation with AI Tools”, delivered as a scientific research retreat.
A leadership program — in the spirit of a research retreat
The research-retreat format sits between a conference and a training course: you don’t just listen to speakers as at a conference, or receive content as in a course — you take an active part for five consecutive days at ICESCO’s premises in Sharjah.
The program rests on one principle: all week, each participant works on a live institutional challenge from their organization, or on a real case study presented during the program. The output of each module feeds the next, and the week ends with a group research paper that is peer-reviewed and published with a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) credited to every team member.
Five days that leave you with new leadership skills, a research paper published in your name, and an accredited, verifiable certificate.
Program objectives
- Develop a generation of leaders and professionals able to lead institutional transformation with AI tools.
- Embed governance, risk management and compliance practices in institutional decision-making.
- Offer an interactive learning experience that combines theoretical depth with practice and simulation.
- Connect students, employees and leaders with decision-makers and experts in an open dialogue.
- Turn training spend into a published, citable knowledge asset.
- Measure learning impact with auditable, quantitative tools.
Within its governance, risk and compliance topics, the program draws on recognized international standards and frameworks, including ISO 31000 (risk management), ISO 37000 (governance of organizations) and the COSO framework for internal control and enterprise risk management.
Admission requirements
No prior research background is required; research and publishing tools are taught hands-on. Participants bring a laptop and, if they have one, a challenge from their workplace — or work on one of the case studies presented. The organizers provide the workbook, templates and all materials.
Why this program? Three gaps we close
Decisions without diagnosis
Many initiatives rest on undocumented assumptions. Here, every solution starts with a precise, evidence-based diagnosis supported by AI tools.
Training without provable impact
Instead of an attendance certificate, you leave with verifiable outputs: a DOI-published paper, pre- and post-test results, and a complete work portfolio.
Knowledge detached from reality
All week you work on a live institutional challenge or a real case study presented at the program — so you leave with an applied solution, not generic knowledge.
How you learn at the program
Activities range from lectures and workshops to meetings with H.E. leaders and experts, active discussions, simulations, research workshops and research clinics — with diverse case studies presented to learn from and work on.
Focused lectures
Concise input from academics and practitioners that leads straight into application.
Hands-on workshops
Every session ends with a written output: a model, an indicator framework or a benchmark table.
Meetings with H.E. leaders & experts
Direct conversations with decision-makers and leaders — ask, challenge and learn from their experience.
Active discussions
Guided debates among participants from different sectors and backgrounds.
Simulations & role-play
Live leadership scenarios and decisions under pressure, rehearsed with your team.
Case studies
Diverse regional and international cases presented at the program to analyze and work on.
Research workshops
Building the group research paper step by step with AI tools.
Research clinics
Individual and team mentoring to review the paper and unblock progress daily.
