Plagiarism Policy
The Emirates Scholar Center for Research & Studies (ESRC) is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and originality. All submitted manuscripts are expected to represent original work by the authors and to properly acknowledge the work of others.
1. Author Responsibility
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts do not contain plagiarized content. Proper citations must be provided for all ideas, data, figures, and text derived from other sources. Any form of misrepresentation of authorship or copying without attribution is considered academic misconduct.
2. Screening and Detection
All submissions are screened using similarity-checking tools (Turnitin or iThenticate..) prior to peer review. Manuscripts that exceed the journal’s acceptable similarity threshold or contain unacknowledged content will be returned to the authors or rejected outright, depending on the severity of the case.
3. Handling Suspected Plagiarism
If plagiarism is suspected during peer review or after publication:
- The authors will be contacted for clarification.
- For minor overlaps, authors may be asked to revise and properly cite sources.
- For serious or deliberate plagiarism, the manuscript will be rejected or retracted following COPE guidelines.
4. Post-Publication Misconduct
If plagiarism is detected after publication, the journal may issue a retraction or correction notice, clearly explaining the reason, and inform the authors’ institutions if appropriate.
5. Education and Prevention
ESRC encourages authors to use plagiarism detection tools and professional editing services prior to submission to ensure originality and adherence to ethical standards.
6. Transparency
All plagiarism checks and decisions are documented in the editorial system to maintain accountability and transparency, ensuring fairness for all authors.
By submitting a manuscript, authors affirm that the work is original, properly cited, and free from plagiarism. This policy protects the credibility of the journal, its authors, and the wider scholarly community.
